Bio:
Kathleen Judd is a research lead and Technical Group Leader of PNNL’s Buildings & Connected Systems Group. As a research project lead, Kathleen works with agencies to better understand the energy and water efficiency and resilience of buildings, and emphasizes the integrated role of technology, institutional policy, and individual behavior in fostering more resilient buildings and communities. She has a keen interest in quickly putting research into practice, and experience developing and demonstrating resilience assessment methods, as well as institutional and behavior change approaches, at a diverse set of federal sites.
As a technical group manager, Kathleen leads a group of over 80 research and support professionals working to transform the way building systems are simulated, operated, evaluated, and integrated into surrounding communities. She is responsible for shaping PNNL’s building systems research strategy, strengthening group capabilities, supporting the professional development of staff, and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion.
