Presentation Title:

Low and No-Cost Energy Efficiency Projects Yield Big Savings

Abstract

Strategic Energy Management (SEM) is an energy efficiency program that helps industrial facilities build a self-sustaining energy efficiency team that understands how to manage energy usage, identify and implement energy savings projects, and generate a company-wide culture of energy efficiency. SEM focuses on low and no-cost operations and maintenance (O&M) type projects. These projects, while they don’t require capital to implement, can produce huge energy, cost, and GHG savings. This presentation will cover an SEM overview, examples of “quick win” projects, then will dive into a case study of a steel manufacturer that reduced their total energy consumption by 10% as a result of shutting off forging presses when not in use. Folks interested in SEM and the impacts of low and no cost energy efficiency projects are encouraged to attend!
