Big Data Performance Analysis of FDD and ASO Implementations
The efficacy of cloud-based energy analytics based on rules engines or machine learning is commonly accepted as industry best practice. The performance of the algorithms, however, is rarely quantified. NYSERDA discusses the real-world impacts of Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) and Automated System Optimization (ASO) analytics on the day-to-day operations of over 600 buildings in New York State. The Real-Time Energy Management (RTEM) program from NYSERDA partnered with over 40 leading technology providers and energy consultants to upgrade the existing building stock and enhance HVAC systems to eliminate energy waste and improve occupant’s comfort.

Pavan specializes in energy management consulting, energy policy, and sustainability. He is currently consulting for New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) on their Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) program.
