Session: A2: Energy Management | Track A: Optimizing Energy Efficiency
Tayber Yastremski
Sustainable Projects Group | President
Presentation Title:
Envelope, Heating Plants, and the Big Projects we Can't Hit our Targets Without: The underlying reasons that prevent them from landing in the current capital plan and how to address the problem
Abstract
Envelope projects, heating plant upgrades, and many of the big ticket items are often identified in energy audits as options for hitting GHG reducing targets but rarely end up in the short-term capital plans. This session will review the key reasons these projects get overlooked and highlight how the underlying framework is encouraging energy mangers to provide bad advice to building owners.
We will review the tools and strategies being used that overcome this issue and how energy and sustainability managers can use them to help get the deep energy retrofit projects in cue for implementation.
