Ash Awad serves as President and Chief Market Officer at McKinstry. During his tenure, Ash has been a primary driver in the company’s growth from a mechanical contractor to a national leader in delivering novel approaches for client decarbonization, resiliency and sustainability.

With Ash’s experience in innovative energy approaches to push climate resiliency, energy efficiency and affordability, McKinstry has continued to explore emerging industry trends that shape the built environment and provide creative solutions. His efforts have not only helped thousands of clients transform their facilities from liabilities into assets, but they’ve done so with an emphasis on the climate, affordability and equity crisis.

Ash led the creation of McKinstry’s South Landing development in Spokane as one of the world’s largest zero-carbon buildings powered through an innovative energy district and the latest smart building systems. The project proves that zero-carbon delivers a better building at zero cost premium without compromise.

In 2023, Ash was appointed by Governor Jay Inslee to the Board of Trustees for Western Washington University. He also sits on the boards of the Pacific Science Center, Washington STEM and Climate Solutions. He serves as the Deputy Director for the Washington Roundtable and provides support to University of Washington’s Mechanical Engineering department.
