Bio:

Craig Smith is Chief Customer Officer for Seattle City Light, responsible for customer and
grid strategy, customer operations, demand side management, electrification, and
strategic technologies.
Prior to joining Seattle City Light in 2014, Craig served as Chief Executive Officer of Richard
Heath and Associates (RHA) where he oversaw a $200 million portfolio of energy efficiency,
healthcare, and telecommunications programs and outreach campaigns targeting
underserved communities.

Before joining RHA in 2010, Craig was the Assistant General Manager of Customer and
Corporate Services for the Snohomish County Public Utility District where he oversaw the
utility’s customer care, energy efficiency, facilities, and emergency management
functions. and served earlier as the utility’s Strategic Planning and Policy Governance
Director.

Earlier in his career he served as Director of Conservation and Load Management for the
Tennessee Valley Authority and Director of Demand Side Management and Senior Policy
Advisor at the Michigan Public Service Commission.

Craig has held numerous industry leadership roles over the years. He currently serves on
the Board of Directors of the Alliance to Save Energy as well as the Alliance’s Energy
2040 Commission and is a past Vice President of the California Energy Efficiency Council
and Chair of the Board of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA). In 2023 he
received the NEEA’s Tom Eckman Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to
energy efficiency in the pacific northwest and the industry

Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from Antioch College.
