Why Transportation Electrification is More than Electrifying the Transportation Sector

Transportation electrification has been a hot topic for a number of years now, with avid supporters and absolute deniers, and therefore subject to multiple opinions ranging from an electric vehicle being a ‘magic carpet’ to doomsday scenario depicted in the ‘Leave the World Behind’. The truth is obviously somewhere in between, but the misinformation is abundant and the impact on the transportation sectors, utilities, buildings, communities is not always clear. This presentation explores the impact transportation electrification has across multiple sectors and what aspects to consider when planning for fleet electrification.
