Meeting State Level Climate Compliance Laws

States are introducing stricter climate compliance laws, such as California’s State Bill 219 which requires organizations to disclose climate risks and meet emissions targets. Effective climate compliance also involves aligning sustainability initiatives—such as carbon reduction targets, energy efficiency programs, and renewable energy investments, creating an opportunity for designers to assist their clients with both compliance and energy efficiency projects.

This presentation covers practical strategies for integrating these requirements into governance, using transparent data reporting, and aligning sustainability goals with legal obligations. Attendees will learn best practices for risk mitigation, regulatory reporting, and how proactive compliance supports both legal assurance and long-term business value.
