Speaker Bio
Melanie Gourley is the compliance manager and sustainability officer for Westland Distillery in Seattle, Washington. A Certified B-Corp, Westland became an inaugural Energy Star Certified Distillery in 2023 and is the only Energy Star Certified distillery in the Pacific Northwest. Though nowhere near an engineer, Melanie is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and holds a Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) credential from the International Society of Sustainability Professionals. She and Westland are currently working with Energy Smart Industrial and Seattle City Light to further improve energy efficiency and decarbonization within the distillation and spirits industry.
