Session D3: Facilitating an Equitable Energy Transition

May 2, 2024 | 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Community Solar and Solar Access Inequity

Clean Power Alliance’s Power Share and Community Solar programs give low-income communities access to solar energy and the associated financial benefits. Over 6,000 customers are receiving 100% renewable energy with a 20% bill discount through this program without having to install solar or pay into a program. Clean Power Alliance has procured over 15 MW of solar all located in disadvantaged communities. This program is funded through the state of California to address energy and solar access inequity across the state. This presentation will highlight the program’s challenges and successes, best practices for working with low-income communities, and future opportunities for community solar in California.
