It's Easy Being Green: The Department of Energy's Better Climate Challenge
This session helps attendees develop actionable plans to achieve energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in pursuit of regulatory and environmental goals. The presentation will share how participants in the Department of Energy’s public-private partnership, the Better Climate Challenge, can access federal support in strategic and operational tactics for energy efficiency and decarbonization. Through the DOE’s Emissions Reduction Planning Framework, organizations develop concrete strategies to achieve their energy goals. Attendees will learn about partnering with the federal government for no-cost technical assistance, national recognition, and opportunities to learn and share actionable best practices for carbon reduction across sectors.
Speaker Bio
Sarah Stubbs is an ORISE Science, Technology, and Policy Fellow with the U.S. Department of Energy in the Building Technologies Office (BTO) and serves as Sector Lead for Retail, Food Service, and Grocery within the Better Buildings Initiative. Prior to the DOE, Sarah worked in Corporate Social Responsibility, focused on environmental justice, workforce development, and employee engagement. Sarah's alma mater is the College of William and Mary, and she received her Master's in Public Administration from American University. In her free time, she enjoys trying new foods, scuba diving, and reading novels.
